Homemade Hot Dog Rolls
The hot dog roll recipe is somewhat different than the one for hamburger rolls. I always though they were similar
The rolls are baked upside down in the New England style hot dog roll pan.
The kneaded dough is placed in the hotdog roll pan
After about an hour the dough has doubled in volume, it is time to bake the rolls
The hot dog rolls coming out of the oven
The rolls are done and the dough has pulled away from the sides of the pan
The rolls are cooling on a wire rack
After they have cooled the hot dog rolls are cut apart. The white bread sides are what distinguishes New England style rolls
Nothing better than hot dog rolls brush with butter and toasted out on the grill
Unless of course it’s homemade hot dog rolls toasted on the grill

Just like homemade hamburger rolls, hot dog rolls aren’t made on the grill, but they do get finished there. Plus your hot dogs taste a whole lot better on them. I took a bread baking class with the express intention of learning to make my own hamburger and hot dog rolls. It is well worth the effort and is starting to become second nature. Surprisingly the recipe for hotdog rolls was quite a bit different than the the dough recipe for the hamburger rolls. The recipe is from King Arthur Flour’s website which is where the New England style hot dog roll pan came from as well.
