Chipotle-Honey BBQ Bacon Burgers
Red & green pepper, tomatoes garlic, onion, & chipotle...
are sautéed in EVOO to make BBQ mop sauce
Apple cider vinegar goes in next
Followed by ketchup & honey & BBQ mop sauce is done
Mop sauce in background, peppered bacon in foreground
The patties are beef & pork sausage blend
The sweet pork sausage was ground in food processor
Beef, pork, red pepper, green onion, garlic & black pepper
The patties, buns, bacon, mop sauce ready to go outside
Prep took so long it was dark out when I made it outside
The burgers are mopped with the BBQ sauce
The buns receive BBQ sauce. Bottoms get bacon & cheese
Two slices of Roma tomatoes & they are done
These burgers had a great sweet & spicy taste

This is the eight variety of burger I have made from my new Build a Better Burger cookbook. I’d have to say it was both the best and took the longest. But great things come to those who wait. This burger blended beef and pork sausage into patties seasoned with fresh herbs and jar spices., There was a sweet hot BBQ sauce that was used for a mop sauce during cooking & a reserved portion was used as a condiment along with Gorgonzola cheese. Next time I will do the BBQ sauce the day before
