A mandoline slicer made quick work of onions & jicama
The jicama & onion are marinated in sake & soy sauce
Soy, sake, ginger, wine, beef onion & garlic salt
The patties are mixed
The patties were soft, sticky & hard to form
The burgers were very soft & a bit difficult to flip
The onions & jicama are grilled on a sheet
The toasted buns receive grilled jicama on the bottom
Then a burger goes on top of the grilled jicama
The grilled onions go over the burgers
Ready to serve
These were moist and subtly tasty like Thai food

This is the fifth burger I’ve made from my new Build a Better Burger cookbook. It is Asian influenced and features many subtle flavors similar to Thai food. The beef burgers use sake, soy sauce, ginger and several dry spices for extra flavor. The toppings consist of grilled marinated jicama & onion. This burger is tender moist and subtly flavorful.
