Peppered Lamb Burgers
The sweet and hot jamb sauce ingredients
Basil leaves are wrapped into a cylinder and cut in strips
These long curly strips are called Chiffonade cut
The feed chute for the grater makes grating the ginger easy
The lamb burgers & buttered buns are ready to grill
The burgers cook 4 minutes per side for medium rare
The burgers & buns are off the grill and ready to top
All buns receive the jam,. Lettuce is the only other topping
The merlot I’m drinking is also an used in the burgers
These burgers are a contrast of many sweet & hot flavors
They were a moist juicy medium rare

This lamb burger is my third burger from my new Build a Better Burger cookbook. It is a complex blend of sweet and hot. The sweet and hot jambs sauce takes nearly two hours to make, but the time is well spent. The lamb burgers are seasoned with garlic, a 5 peppercorn blend, merlot, and sesame oil. The jam is applied to both buns and the only other topping is a lettuce leaf. The taste is really incredible, far better the a plain old beef burger.
