This was the first recipe I tried from my newest cookbook WEBER'S TIME TO GRILL. This book has a whole section with various breakfast dishes for the grill. A rustic country style loaf of bread was called for, so I decided to go all the way with this recipe and bake my own loaf of country style bread. The rest was easy: make up a batter, soak the bread slices, drain the bread slices of excess batter, spray with canola oil and grill. After grilling the slices are topped with confectioner’s sugar and it is time to eat. This recipe made some great French toast and grilling it resulted in some nice and crispy slices. A bonus is if you already have the bread on hand this is a real quick recipe to make.
