Info
SERIOUS BARBECUE was the source for this grilled ham steak recipe. It as one of the simpler recipes in the book, but turned out the best ham steak either my wife & I have had. It was a great way to finish 4 straight days of grilling over Memorial Day weekend 2011. When my wife came home and saw the ham steak ready to go out to the grill, I saw a disappointed look flash across her face. Ten minutes later she was telling me I had to make it again next weekend. the steak gets marinated in a sweet marinade for 8 hours. While the ham steak was in the fridge, I put a batch of BOSS HAWG'S BBQ BEANS on the smoker to have with the ham steak. Some of the used marinade is boiled and used as a glaze on the grill. After grilling the steaks are seasoned with black pepper & flat leaf parsley. That is about as simple as it gets in Serious Barbecue, but it turned out an amazing ham steak. As you can see from the pictures, I got some killer grills marks - no doubt due to the high sugar content in the glaze/marinade. I can’t wait to make this recipe again.
