This is the first recipe I have made from a book I’ve had for a while called America’s Best BBQ.
It is yet another recipe for doctored beans where regular beans are jazzed up by adding additional ingredients. Ironically the source restaurant for this recipe smokes it, but as presented in the cookbook the recipe was cooked in the oven and Liquid Smoke was used for the smoked flavor. I simply removed the Liquid Smoke and cooked it on the smoker for 3 hours. I will let the pictures tell the story. Let me cut to the chase and say these are the best baked beans I have ever tasted. This includes the homemade COWBOY BEANS
I started making last year. The pleasant surprise makes me wonder what other hidden gems are in this book?
