Grilling food over cedar planks is a form of indirect grilling with the added benefit that the smoldering cedar plank gives off smoke which flavors the food. You can get several types of wood.
-
Here is some salmon grilling on a cedar plank.
-
Another way several cedar planks can be used is to make a cedar boat.
-
Here a pork roast and veggies are being grilled in a cedar boat

Stainless steel skewers in 5/8” and 7/8” widths

These kebabs are being grilled using Fire Wire flexible skewers, which use stainless steel wire and can be curved into any shape. This is handy for grills like the BGE. They also can fit inside marinade bags.
-
There is a solid metal “needle” at the business end which is where you thread the food onto the skewers. The small size of the “needle” helps keep delicate items from splitting when you place them.
-
The skewers are about 31” long which is about twice the length of a regular skewer. The far end of the skewers has a loop to assist in turning or picking up the skewers.
-
The curved shape allows you to shape the food to fit the shape of the grill and the space you have available on that grill if there is other food cooking. These are a perfect solution for the Big Green Egg.
